The Novo Serus J Baritone is part of the Nucleus series, Novo's evolution of the Select line. It features a tempered pine body paired with a tempered maple neck for lightweight comfort, resonance, and long-term stability.
The Medium 'C' neck carve (.830") with a 28" scale length ensures a comfortable feel, making it an ideal choice for both seasoned players and those exploring the world of baritone guitars for the first time. The East Indian Rosewood fretboard features a compound 9.5"-14" radius, MOTO dot inlays, and Jescar 47095 frets.
Electronics are handled by a pair of Lollar Mini Broiler pickups, delivering articulate clarity with the body and punch required for lower tunings. Made in the USA, these pickups ensure balanced response across all frequencies, from tight lows to shimmering highs. They retain definition under gain, making the Serus J Baritone versatile enough for clean passages, driven rock tones, and modern alternative sounds. The guitar comes factory-strung with Stringjoy 1468 strings, chosen to provide balanced tension, responsive bends, and a focused low end suitable for both rhythm and lead playing in baritone registers.
The hardware is designed for professional-level performance. The Novo/Mastery M1 bridge and NV vibrato system provides superior tuning stability, accurate intonation, and smooth feel, allowing expressive use without compromising reliability.
